Necessity
Who among us has ever used a toilet or driven a car or talked on a telephone whether it landline, cell phone, or coconut phone from Gilligan’s Island? Chances are you have done one or all these things and all these things are someone’s invention. Invention has been around for tens of thousands of years since the first cave men who sat around and made fire to ease the grip of the cold nights in the elements. Whether it was the ancient cave that brought us fire, or today’s inventors who are working on devices that we all dreamed of as children, the flying car is not far off. Why do we invent, why do we ever make anything more than what nature gave us? There are many reasons why we invent all of these inventions were out of necessity. For those great minds of the cavemen they had the need to stay warm and to cook their meat to prevent disease, so what happened they invented fire to solve both problems. For the people living squalor and filth they needed some way to get rid of human waste without it lingering in the streets and causing the population to get terrible diseases. Hmmmm what sort of device is there that moves human waste to somewhere away from the population I don’t know, oh yeah maybe a toilet. What about that great need to the world well about 150 years ago your options were walk, ride a horse, or take a boat. Luckily for us there was some fine folks who just needed to go further, faster, longer, so what did they do well they invented of course the internal combustion car first saw life somewhere in the late 1800’s planes would follow about thirty years later. Invention will always be a part of life especially this type of invention because as long as there is a need for something better than what we have there will be invention.

These articles are very interesting. I can’t even imagine living life today without all of the modern day inventions. There have been many times where I simply don’t know what I would do without my cell phone. There were so many inventions that led up to the creation of cell phones too. Batteries were invented and then circuit boards, and so on. I liked how you talked about the history and different motivations for inventions as well. Inventing takes a lot of time, energy and resources to make something good, therefore it takes strong motivations to invest in inventing something. Good work on the posts!
Good analysis most of what you said was essentially what I was going for. I really just thought I would point a few reasons as to why we have the things have. Everyone accepts the inventions of today, but few ever care to ask anything else.
